The political question no one is asking: What do your shoes say about who you support? At Veritas, we took it upon ourselves to answer this question.
Here are our unscientific results of 13 Des Moines voters:
Flip-floppers support McCain.
Half of McCain voters wore flip-flops, and only 12 percent of Obama supporters wore them.
Ballet flats are a popular election-day apparel.
Twenty-three percent of our sample wore ballet flats. One-hundred percent of Chuck Baldwin supporters wore these trendy kicks.
Obama makes gains with athletic shoes.
Voters eager to make it to the polls also wore athletic shoes of all sorts—from red sneakers to Saucony running shoes. Thirty-seven percent of Obama supporters wore athletic shoes.
After one Obama supporter was polled, he asked the question, “I wonder who I would have voted for if I had worn wing tips?”
We aren’t sure, but one man wearing black, snakeskin dress shoes voted for McCain.
