Real Hope, Real Change

God cares about our leadership. What the president of our country believes about life, the family, and the constitution matters and affects Joe the plumber, you, and me. Read through Kings and Chronicles to see God's attention to the leaders' personal fear of the Lord. You can also see his reaction: blessing when the kings revere God, and judgment upon pride and idol worship.

You should vote, and as Christians it is important to vote in a manner that will give your children and grandchildren the right to openly share the Gospel (a great act of love) without fear of being convicted of a hate crime. But our president is not our god. On the left, Obama promises Hope and Change, and on the right, McCain is hoped to bring ethics and morality back to this once great nation.

Real hope is going to come through having a savior. As Christians, we need to instill hope in our neighbors, friends, and coworkers by telling them about the only one who can really bring hope to this broken world. And as the body of Christ, we need to be a body of change. We must love people radically, give every human life dignity and honor, and take care of the orphaned and widowed.

"Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel." Philippians 1:27

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." 1 Timothy 2:1-2
