Rejoice in the Lord Always

Recently some negative, I mean negative, things came up in my life. On the outside I wasn't letting it show that I was bothered by it, but inside it was bubbling and erupting in my thought life.

I was trying to trust the Lord with the situation, but I was not allowing him to take care of it. So what was the antidote for the situation? Someone shared this verse with me:

Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Rejoice because you have a God who loves you and cares about you. Thank him for what you have, what he has done, and where you are in your life. It forces you to be humble and bow down and exalt him and claim that he is Lord. Tell him how you feel and what’s going on. Tell him what’s up and what you are lacking. He already knows, but he wants to hear it from you.

Then what? And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding.... Will what? Will guard your heart and your mind. Whoa, I just hit the jackpot—what a powerful verse. God is real, so share a verse. It may be just what someone needs to hear.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
